My Approach

As an experienced jewellery designer based in Cheshire, I firmly believe the best pieces of jewellery are full of emotion. They not only tell powerful stories, but also resonate deeply. My inquisitive nature drives me to connect closely with each client. Without a doubt, it’s this connection that helps me capture their unique personality and experiences. Whether I’m designing an engagement ring, commemorating a special occasion, or creating a piece “just because,” my approach is consistently collaborative and tailored. Consequently, this ensures the process is both enjoyable and memorable. After hundreds of commissions, I still feel genuinely excited by the opportunity to design pieces that mark significant moments in life.

 

My Story

With nearly 15 years of experience in bespoke jewellery design, my journey began when I learned to silversmith and later worked for a well respected jeweller, honing my ability to transform diverse inspirations into stunning creations. I established my own brand in 2012 under the eponymous name ‘Catherine Budd Jewellery’ and quickly earned recognition, including being named a Designer of Excellence Finalist at The Jewellery Show and receiving the Highly Commended award for Bridal Collection of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards. In 2024 I changed the company name to CB Fine Jewellery.

I have been fortunate to collaborate with global jewellery brands on high-end diamond collections, however, it has always been the creation of bespoke pieces that truly ignites my passion. Each commission allows me to connect deeply with clients from all walks of life, celebrating their significant milestones—from engagements to anniversaries—making every piece a cherished reflection of their unique stories.

Quality and craftsmanship are paramount in my work as a jewellery designer. I collaborate closely with some of the finest goldsmiths and craftspeople in the UK. All of them share my unwavering dedication to perfection. We use both traditional and modern techniques. Together, we skillfully bring each design to life. Furthermore, we pay meticulous attention to detail. As a result, this commitment ensures your bespoke jewellery reflects the highest standards and wows you time and again.

Responsible Practices

Responsible sourcing and sustainable practices are fundamentally important to my business values. For this reason, I collaborate with a network of trusted partners who share my commitment to transparency, legitimacy, and integrity. Additionally, our production is local and based in the UK and we prioritise using recycled gold whenever possible. I am also dedicated to working with responsibly sourced diamonds and gemstones. I also work with selected small-scale artisanal and ethical mining communities around the world. Through these efforts, I continuously strive to make a positive impact in the world of fine jewellery.
